Start is in Neumarkt i.d.OPf, where you will find the Baroque St. Anna's Church and the "Maria Hilf" pilgrimage church. From there, the bike tour heads to Freystadt to see the impressive Baroque Asam pilrgrimage church with its amazing cupola roof. The church was built in the years 1700 to 1710 based on designs from Giovanni Antonio Viscardi; the Frescos were created by Hans Georg Asam together with his sons, Cosmas Damian and Egid Quirin. Take an athletic detour to Sulzbürg to visit the Protestant Baroque church, St. Michael, and the adjacent Catholic Church "Maria Sieben Schmerzen". The two churches are the visible landmarks of Sulzbürg. The tour reaches the Altmühl Valley at Gluck's village of Berching along the Main-Danube Canal. The Middle Age village has retained its entire city wall with 13 towers and four city gates.
